The Challenge

Everlast Gyms, part of Frasers Group, operates a growing portfolio of premium gyms across the UK. As part of its Elevation Strategy, Everlast set out to redefine the in-gym experience — creating immersive, high-quality environments that remain inclusive, operationally efficient, and sustainable.

A key part of this strategy was the rollout of a new LED lighting solution across 69 gym locations nationwide. While the lighting design was critical to achieving the desired look and feel, Everlast also required a robust, future-proof lighting control system to ensure:

• Consistent lighting scenes and schedules across all sites
• Reduced energy consumption and operational costs
• Central visibility and management across the estate
• A scalable platform capable of supporting future growth

The solution needed to be easy to manage at scale, flexible at a local level, and aligned with Everlast’s sustainability ambitions.

Lowry Lighting helped us upgrade the lighting controls across a number of stores, replacing outdated and unreliable systems that were costly to maintain and offered limited control.
With Dynalite, we now have full integration, seamless control, and far greater energy efficiency. The entire process was smooth, and Lowry’s team provided expert support throughout.
These stores are just the first phase of a wider roll-out across our estate, and we’re confident the same level of reliability and performance will be delivered in every location.

The Solution

The design of the gyms, combined with the innovative zones, ensures lighting plays a key role in the overall experience.
The LED solutions and connected lighting system significantly reduce energy consumption while delivering a standout environment for members.

Working in partnership with Signify, Lowry delivered the lighting controls and connected systems strategy for the nationwide rollout.

As a Signify partner, Lowry was responsible for the design, implementation, commissioning, and optimisation of a connected lighting controls platform, enabling Everlast to manage lighting performance consistently across every location from a central interface.

The solution combines high-efficiency LED lighting with an intelligent, cloud-based control system, providing both operational simplicity and long-term flexibility.

Enhancing the member experience through lighting
Upgraded sites showcase how lighting can actively shape the gym environment.

Distinct training zones are supported by tailored lighting scenes, helping define spaces, improve wayfinding, and enhance atmosphere. Architectural lighting elements further reinforce the layout of each gym, guiding members intuitively through the space.

The result is a premium, immersive experience that supports both functionality and brand identity.

Supporting sustainability and circular design
Several locations feature bespoke luminaires produced using 3D-printing technology, designed specifically for each site.

These fixtures are:
• Manufactured from 100% recyclable polycarbonate
• Lightweight, reducing transportation impact
• Serviceable, extending product lifespan
• Designed in line with circular economy principles

This approach supports Everlast’s environmental objectives while ensuring long-term value from the installed lighting assets.
